Synopsis:

Stephen Fry plays Peter Kingdom, the country solicitor standing up for the little guy. Although he has a large and varied case load, some funny some sad. Peter uses the law to care for his clients and those around him. Big-hearted and slightly eccentric, Peter appears to be content but his life is overshadowed by the mysterious disappearance of his brother. Fry stars alongside a distinguished cast including Hermione Norris, Celia Imrie, Phillida Law, Tony Slattery, Richard Wilson, Joss Ackland and newcomer Karl Davies..

Respected country solicitor Peter Kingdom, with the assistance of his apprentice Lyle and secretary Gloria, runs a small legal practice in Market Shipborough for the eccentric people of Norfolk. Peter lives with his slightly crazy sister Beatrice, and recently lost his half-brother Simon under mysterious circumstances.
