Synopsis:
Veteran Joe Barrett returns to Tokyo three years after the War to reclaim his nightclub, Tokyo Joe's, and his wife Trina, whom believed dead. Although the club has been watched over by his close friend Ito, he finds that his Trina has divorced him to marry an amiable, high-ranking American official, Mark Landis. Joe vows to win his wife back, but needs a valid reason to extend his visa. He finds it in an unholy alliance with ex-Japanese intelligence officer Baron Kimura, who wishes Joe to front for him as owner a small local airline. As added leverage, Kimura threatens to reveal Trina's wartime treason as a Tokyo Rose-type collaborator. When Joe finds out that he's slated to fly war criminals back to Japan to foment an insurgency against the American occupation and his seven year old daughter has been kidnapped to insure his co-operation, he knows that the time for action has come.

A former night club owner returns to postwar Japan to find his wife and fortune but finds things rather different from what he expected. His wife has divorced him in his absence and now has a child, Anya, whom Joe later discovers is his. He is blackmailed into smuggling Japanese war criminals back into Japan, but tells the authorities, in spite of Anya having been kidnapped. He succeeds in rescuing his child, but is killed in the process.

Joe Barrett returns to Tokyo after World War II where he once owned a bar, Tokyo Joe's, and deserted his wife Trina. They have a seven-year-old daughter. Kimura forces Joe into piloting war criminals by revealing that during the war Trina made treasonous propaganda broadcasts.
