Synopsis:
Tora Tora Tora: The Real Story of Pearl Harbor: An examination of the 1941 air raid on the US naval base. "America: The Story of the US" WWII: The attack on Pearl Harbor brings America into World War. The war effort revitalizes the nation's economy. American innovation and manufacturing might invigorate the Allies in Europe and in the Pacific, the ultimate piece of technology ends the war. "Battleline" Attack on Pearl Harbor: Stanza reprised the story of the attack on Pearl Harbor, told through the eyes of a Japanese flyer and an American sailor. "Battle 360" Call to Duty: After checking in at Pearl Harbor following the Japanese attack, the Enterprise goes on the offense, first in the Marshall Islands then escorting Doolittle's raiders on the USS Hornet. "Tech Effect" Pearl Harbor: After the sneak attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941, a formerly "neutral" and severely crippled U.S. entered WWII. But Japan brought specialized technology with them to Pearl Harbor. "WWII in HD" Darkness Falls: WWII in HD examines the initial phases of the war preceding American entry into the conflict. The United States sends troops to Guadalcanal and North Africa. "What Went Down" Pearl Harbor. Unsung Heroes of Pearl Harbor: Documentary of the little-known Americans who defended Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. Wake Island: Alamo of the Pacific: This documentary is a captivating account of the defense of Wake Island by a small contingent of United States Marines and civilian contractors. From December 8th until December 23rd, 1941 the defenders thwarted an aerial attack and an attempted amphibious landing from a naval task force before finally being overwhelmed by the third attempt by the Japanese Imperial Navy. Five surviving Marines, one surviving construction contractor and others walk the viewers through the battle and the aftermath of the battle. A truly superb story of American heroes at the outset of World War II, narrated by Will Lyman. "Remembering World War II" Pearl Harbor. USS Bowfin: Pearl Harbor Avenger: The submarine USS Bowfin made nine patrol runs during WWII, all packed with hair-raising adventures. In the course of sinking some 175,000 tons of Japanese shipping, the Bowfin faced an increasingly sophisticated Japanese anti-submarine campaign and endured vicious depth bomb and surface attacks. The boat aided guerrillas in the Philippines, hunted in wolfpacks, rescued downed flyers, and scourged the Japanese throughout the war under command of various colorful skippers. The Bowfin has been gorgeously restored and is berthed next to the USS Missouri at Pearl Harbor. This is her glorious story. Pearl Harbor: 75th anniversary. Pearl Harbor: Survivors Remember.

Just before 8 a.m. on December 7th, 1941, hundreds of Japanese fighter planes attacked the American naval base at Pearl Harbor near Honolulu, Hawaii. The barrage lasted just two hours, but it was devastating: The Japanese managed to destroy nearly 20 American naval vessels, including eight enormous battleships, and more than 300 airplanes. More than 2,000 Americans soldiers and sailors died in the attack, and another 1,000 were wounded. Through the unique perspective offered by the graphic recollections of combatants from both sides, experience the full force and fury of the most infamous surprise attack in military history. Individual stories of heroism and courage are explored using rare archive footage and interviews with the soldiers who survived, as the story of one of World War II's most ferocious attacks vividly comes to life.
