Synopsis:

Nestled in the wildly romantic Scottish highlands is the Dewhurst family estate. An idyllic place to live? Not for Lady Elizabeth "Liz" Dewhurst, whose marriage with Gregor is on the rocks. When her beloved brother Simon dies tragically in a riding accident, she blames her husband and throws him out of the house. Sinking into grief, she withdraws completely into herself and no longer leaves the manor. Only the unexpected acquaintance with her son Alex's Classics professor Peter Rossen seems to lighten her mood. In the meantime, Liz's best friend Mary uses the opportunity to flirt with Gregor, a romantic endeavor that gains the unlikely support of the Dewhursts' dubious attorney. He is less interested in romance than in getting his hands on the Dewhursts's vast farmlands if the couple separates. As Mary tries to win Gregor's heart, and Liz and Peter come closer, a new tragic accident threatens to turn their lives upside down once again...
