Synopsis:

In 1940, a couple celebrate the 20th anniversary of their wedding, but neither of them is fully satisfied with the sexual side of their relationship. Nino (Frank Finlay) and Teresa Rolfe (Stefania Sandrelli) both keep secret diaries in which they reveal their wildest fantasies - Nino wants his far younger wife to become less inhibited and to this end he tries to engineer an affair between her and their daughter's fiancane, Laslo.

Stifled by twenty years of marriage, art professor Nino (Frank Finlay) decides to spice up his sex life. Learning of his wife Teresa's (Stefania Sandrelli) sexual fantasties for Lazlo, their daughter's fiance, he begins an odyssey of decadence and deception.

A husband and wife lock their diaries in a drawer and also know that they read each other's entries, a device which takes them from one sexual encounter to another.
