Synopsis:

They are the elite of the elite. Heroes who risk their lives to rescue others. They are the men and women of Rescue Specials Ops. Experienced paramedics in peak physical condition, they're skilled in abseiling, rock climbing, surf and sea rescue, 4wd driving and fire brigade procedures. They are the first to be called in for any natural or man-made disaster, salvage or rescue operations. In this season the Special Ops team are threatened with the introduction of Lifeblood a privately owned rescue organisation trying to take over their business - leaving the entire team on edge in fear of losing their jobs and their future in rescue work. The team are dispatched to a foggy ravine where a couple, Michael and Katie Pitt, have gone over. Katie dies and initially Lara feels for Michael but begins to suspect something isn't right when he repeatedly looks for the return of a duffel bag. Lara finds it and also sees a drug packet and mentions it to Katie's sister who takes matters into her own hands when she realises that Michael had turned her sister psychotic with a mixture of drugs.
