Synopsis:
Embrace: Standing before an open window, a woman gazes at black clouds darkening the horizon. She loves two men - the one who shares her present, and the one who marked her past. Movements: A very special animated short film that observes how we move around the world. We walk, look, work, run, and stand together. The World Within: While preparing for her first exhibition, a young painter commits so passionately to her creations that she loses touch with reality and descends into hallucinatory chaos. Confined in a clinic, she progressively rebuilds herself through painting and the daily observation of a squirrel under her wind. Dreams in the Field: A boy looking for his cat to the edge of time, where who's dead disappears and who's alive let fly. Childhood illusions dissolve on the wheat field and make landscape. The Shoreline: A small island off the coast of Brittany. The weather is stormy, the wind is blowing, dark clouds have invaded the sky. The light highlights, for a moment, the silhouettes of a tree, a house, a walker. Then the storm breaks. To the rhythm of the comings and goings of the waves, this film attempts to capture fleeting moments and capture sensations. A film that appeals to the senses, about the sea, the wind, and the light to take the time to discover a small piece of land bordered by the sea. An invitation to look at what surrounds us. Black Sun: Follows Dino and his daughter, Victoria, who travel to Italy for a DNA test while the past catches up with them. Funny Birds: 10-year-old Ellie is fascinated by nature and birds, she spends her time reading about them. One day, a few miles from school, she goes onto a little island on the Loire River to take a bird book back to the library. It's an island full of birds. Cuddle: At her father's request, Coline returns to her child's bedroom to sort through her belongings. The different objects she finds will remind her of her childhood memories. In doing so, she finally accepts those she will never be able to get rid of. Sweet Like Lemons: A visual reflection on getting out of a harmful relationship and moving on. The Great Arc : With nearly 70 monumental works of art scattered throughout the district, La Défense, Paris, is Europe's largest open-air museum. Sitting between the legs of the gigantic Red Spider, I wonder how I didn't notice them before. Nun or Never!: The nuns living in a convent are happily melted together. When one nun digs a man up from the ground in the garden, she loses her grip on everyday life. Can secrets and harmony coexist? The Family Portrait: As Austro-Hungary teeters on collapse, Andras and his daughter are taken aback by the visit from Andras' brother, Zoltan, who comes accompanied by his large family.

This DVD-book presents a collection of twelve animated short films directed by women. Written in residence at the Royal Abbey of Fontevraud and in Meknes, and awarded at festivals, they together offer a panorama of contemporary animation, the diversity of its inspirations, and its techniques: from cartoons to stop motion, from pincushions to animated painting... Twelve films, twelve perspectives, twelve worlds to discover, from the first sketches to completed works, accompanied by a text by Cécile Noesser and Xavier Kawa-Topor, specialists in animated cinema.
