Synopsis:

Worm in the Bud: An elderly man living on his own in Belfast rouses the suspicions of his neighbors. The Invasion: Inhabitants in a remote village laughs off and dismiss a couple of schoolboys' claims that they are being invaded by aliens. The Chocolate Tree: As independence for Africa draws near, a wealthy British trading family welcomes a future president of one country into their home, in an uneasy conversation that is tinged by condescension and racism, grudges and militant anger. What's Wrong with Humpty Dumpty?: Pompous film director David endures a boring existence with his wife Hilary, a children's-book author--and has a glamorous girlfriend, Caroline. When Hilary finds out about Caroline, she decides to befriend her, then update him.

Story of suspicion in a working-class district of Belfast. Mrs Bratney is a
smug, unattractive widow of a station-master who spends most of her time
watching her neighbours. She becomes particularly curious about Mr Snow, whose
furtive behaviour attracts her. With a recent outbreak of attackls in the
