Synopsis:
No french review yet:
Amigomío:
Set in Buenos Aires during a period of military dictatorship. Carlos has recently separated from his wife, Negra, a leftist radical. He has custody of their son, whom he calls Amigomio ("my friend"). When Negra disappears, presumably abducted by the police, Carlos decides to leave the country with his son. They travel by road across the Andes, first into Bolivia and eventually into Ecuador, where they start a new life.

Malou:
Malou feels that the difficulties she is experiencing in her relationships lie in her past and so she searches out information about her mother. Her mother, a nightclub singer who lived in Germany, France and Argentina, becomes the focus of a series of flashbacks through which we learn of her mother's stormy life and the difficulty she had in bringing her up. These insights enable Malou to sort out the difficulties in her own life.

Im Land meiner Eltern (In the Land of My Parents):
Director Jeanine Meerapfel interviews several people living in Berlin to try to shed some light on what it means to be Jewish in this particular divided city that was the nexus of Hitler's regime. Among those interviewed are Luc Bondy, Meier Breslav, Eva Ebner, and Sarah Haffner. The director herself was born in Argentina of a German Jewish father and French mother, and she came to live in Germany in the early 1960s.

Die Kümmeltürkin geht (Melek leaves):
The subject of this well-intentioned documentary on the expulsion of Turkish citizens from Germany is Melek Tez, a basically disgruntled, 38-year-old woman who does not give the impression she would be happy anywhere. As director Meerapfel follows Melek through the bureaucratic maze that will eventually supply her with a certain amount of funds on her departure, it is revealed that she left a daughter behind in Turkey while she took off for Germany. Her dreams included the possibility of a romantic liaison that would undoubtedly provide for her, yet none of this worked out. Now on her journey back home, viewers are likely to wonder if Melek's aimless existence is any indication of the norm, or not.

Die Verliebten (Days to Remember ):
In this melodramatic tale, the well-made plans of a career-obsessed woman are derailed when she sets her sights on a young man who is plainly not very interested in her. In the story, Katherina is an ambitious reporter for German television, and her Yugoslavian family background makes her a natural to cover stories in that country. While preparing a story on children with dual nationalities, she encounters Peter, a German lad who is researching his father's war record to see if he was guilty or innocent of war crimes. She brings Peter to see her family, and later her wooing efforts finally seem to bring her some promise of a relationship.

La Amiga (The Girlfriend):
Maria (Liv Ullmann) and her actress friend Raquel (Cipe Lincovsky) react differently when both of their children are missing and presumed dead at the hands of military terrorists. Raquel moves to Berlin, while Maria continues the search for her missing child. She continues her search after the oppressive military regime is ousted, still hoping her child is not among the many dead.

Desembarcos (When Memory Speaks):
'Desembarcos' is about the necessity to remember what happened during the military dictatorship in Argentina, to remember the thousands kidnapped, tortured, murdered. It shows this open wound of the Argentinian society reflected
in this group of young people. It also shows their hopes, their quest to find their own identity in the struggle to
remember and remind. This film is done with very little money but with the passion and the belief that film keeps
history alive.

Mosconi - oder wem gehort die Welt:

Portrat Jeanine Meerapfel:

Annas Sommer (Anna's Summer):
Anna is the Jewish daughter of a Spanish mother and a Greek father. She has returned to her family's house in Greece after many of her friends and family members have died over the years. Although she came back to the house in order to sell it, things begin to take a different direction: The house itself, the furniture and other equipment in it seem to become alive for Anna, recalling images of her past, her beloved parents and her friend Max, who once gave her shelter from the raging policemen when she took part as a photo journalist in a political demonstration in Berlin. Anna changes her mind: When some rich, ignorant American couple wondering about if they should buy the house asks for the swimming pool (while the Mediterranean is half a mile away), she simply doubles the charge, and finally puts the "For sale" plate into the garbage can. In the meantime, she has had a little love affair with a young man from the village, found a girlfriend from her childhood days, swum in the sea, and found a way to live in peace with her melancholic memories.
