Synopsis:
En 1944, en pleine campagne en Italie, trois jeunes soldats américains, Fairchild, Dolley et leur sergent, surnommé "le Prêcheur", se préparent à leur baptême du feu. Pour se changer les idées, les GI's se rendent au village, où ils boivent, dansent et flirtent. Mais "le Prêcheur" s'éprend d'une jeune femme qu'il demande rapidement en mariage, ignorant qu'il s'agit d'une prostituée...
