The Double Steps (2011)
Prepare to be taken over by this delightfully enigmatic storyline that traverses centuries, continents and cultures. The 'double steps' in question refer to advice left by French artist François Augiéras, who claimed the best way to escape one's enemies is to walk backwards over your own footprints. Using one of Augiéras' lost works as the catalyst for the story, filmmaker Isaki Lacuesta and painter Miquel Barceló weave together the structure and iconography of the road movie with African griot storytelling.

The Mud Notebook (2011)
El Cuaderno de Barro (the Mud Notebook) is a documentary Isaki Lacuesta conceived in collaboration with the painter Miquel Barceló. For over twenty years, the Spanish artist has been living in Africa for long periods. There he has learned to paint between termites and scorpions, before the heat dries the paint and the wind carries away the canvases. At the top of the cliff of Bandiagara, Barceló presents, together with choreographer Josef Nadj, the ´performance´ Paso Doble and reveals for the first time the secrets of his African workshop.
