The "Hilton" is the tongue-in-cheek name for an inhospitable prefab on the outskirts of Helsinki, which is a haven for young people in social distress. The film's young protagonists - Janne, Toni, Mira, Pete and Make - feel condemned to an open prison in the Hilton and have little hope for change in the future. They feel anger, sadness, and most of all doubt about the meaning of their lives. Perhaps only cancer patient Make and the pregnant Mira demonstrate any pride and confidence.
