Synopsis:
Au temps des Tudor, à Londres, le Prince Edouard VI propose à un mendiant, Tom, d'échanger leurs vies. Chacun prend les vêtements de l'autre et en se voyant dans les habits de l'autre, ils sont surpris de constater que leur ressemblance physique est saisissante ... Tellement saisissante que quand le roi vient à mourir, laissant le Prince hériter du trône, personne ne les croit ...
