Synopsis:

Tras quedar viuda, Anne Crandall sustituye a su marido en la alcaldía de una pequeña ciudad de Vermont. Con el fin de encargar una nueva estatua de su difunto marido, ya que la anterior fue destruida por un rayo, va a Nueva York a ver al escultor George Corday y se enamora de él. Estando ambos en una discoteca de dudosa reputación, la confunden con la vedette y va a la cárcel. Una vez en su casa, trata de olvidar lo sucedido, pero Corday aparece en la ciudad para construir la estatua. El título alude al hecho de que Irene Dunne y Charles Boyer formen de nuevo pareja en la pantalla. Ya había protagonizado historias románticas como "Tú y yo" (1939) y "Huracán" (1939).
