Synopsis:
Ironside broke new ground in programming by giving television its first disabled hero, and star Raymond Burr (Perry Mason) a second major television hit spanning an incredible 8 years. Paralyzed by a would-be assassin's bullet, Robert Ironside (Raymond Burr), former Chief of Detectives for the San Francisco Police Department, is unwilling to give up his personal war on crime. Continuing to work from his uniquely equipped office at SFPD headquarters, Ironside fights crime others can't, aided by a crack team of investigators including Sgt. Ed Brown (Don Galloway), ex-con-turned-assistant Mark Sanger (Don Mitchell) and beautiful policewoman Eve Whitfield (Barbara Anderson). All three provide the 'legs' for the wheelchair-bound detective, and contribute professional skill and personal concern in the various cases to which he is assigned by Commissioner Randall (Gene Lyons). Ironside's third season continues the series' tradition of presenting stories laced with intelligent detection, action & justice, and features guest stars William Shatner, Ann Baxter, Leo G. Carroll, Vera Miles, Cloris Leachman, Bill Bixby, Tina Louise, Steve Forrest and David Cassidy.
