Synopsis:
Nacho has got into trouble trying to sell his father-in-law heifers and is trying desperately to raise money, turning to all the women he thinks can help him. With an outstanding performance by Eduard Fernández, Barroso shows great skill in penetrating the emotions of a fortysomething man painfully struggling to overcome a difficult situation and realising his real fears and emotions. A superb portrait blending criticism with compassion and supported by the remarkable work of all the actresses. The film won a Goya award for Best Adapted Screenplay.

Winner of the Goya, Spain's answer to the Oscar, for Best Adapted Screenplay, Mariano Barroso's provocative takedown of Spanish machismo follows Nacho (Eduard Fernandez), a down and out veterinarian, who seeks advice from the most important women in his life -his lover, his ex-wife, his mother, his sister-in-law and his psychologist- after his scheme to steal five horses from his father-in-law falls apart. He soon finds his character indicted by each one of them.
