Synopsis:

A young boy is wanted for a crime he has no recollection of committing and must go on the run, hunted by two kings and their forces.

An impressionistic study of seasonal activities, showing how the Post Office is adapted to deal with them in transmission of radio and television, in the telephone service and in the collection and distribution of mail. (Synopsis) INTEREST. A survey of the activities of a year and the part played by the G.P.O. in these activities.

Rl.1 WINTER: Network of communications must be maintained all the year.
Workmen repairing 'phone lines. Ship's radio enables help to be sent to ship in distress.

SPRING: Weather improving. Harvest season communications important for the
farmer. Spring flowers, potato crop in the Channel Islands. G.P.O. radio
must being erected. Laying the first coaxial T.V. cable from London to Manchester (387-425).

SUMMER: Trooping of the Colour. Russian ballet in rehearsal at Covent Garden
(460-510), telephones enable sports results to be given quickly to the
public. Holidaymakers at Blackpool, send postcards home (824-890), postal sorters (890).

Rl.2 Sheep market at Lanark (70-109). Shipping, traffic in ports controlled
by telephone. Winter food supplies arriving at ports. Lloyds, Stock Exchange
rely on speedy communications.
