Synopsis:
Magical Eye-Games. Raetz has the sixth sense for perceptions of the extraordinary kind. His works are as mystifying as a magician's feats: they challenge our habits of observation, and they look at things from a completely new angle. Movement is involved in many of Raetz' works: installations and sculptures change their appearance, either by being moved themselves or by having the viewer walk around them. Like this, a hare becomes a man wearing a hat looking Beuys, or a YES is turned into a NO. By witnessing how his inherent world outlook works, a lot is revealed about the Swiss artist, the rather shy, literate and humorous person behind these incredible works of art. Film-maker Iwan Schumacher gains a first-time insight into the artist's work of 40 years.

This Dvd was published for the exhibition One image may hide another. Arcimboldo - Dali - Raetz presented at the National Galleries of the Grand Palais in Paris until July 6, 2009.
