29-year-old Alma lives a secluded life in a contemporary Catholic convent and is preparing to take her perpetual vows as a nun. Her quiet existence is disrupted by the unexpected arrival of her estranged brother Erik, who unearths a secret tragedy from their past. With the ceremony impending, Alma becomes increasingly haunted by resurfacing trauma and starts to lose her footing. Trapped in the convent with her brother, all that was invisible before is now scrawled on the walls. 'The Great Silence' is a drama about the desperate struggle to be perceived as a good person and attempting to deny your own darkness by demonizing others. How far are you willing to go to escape your past sins, and is it ever too late to find forgiveness?
