Henri Plaat (1936) lives in Amsterdam. He received lessons at the Rietveld Academy in the mid-fifties. He went on to work for some time as a topographic designer. In the early sixties Plaat decided to concentrate on painting and watercolours. From 1968 he also started filming for himself. Plaat has made many short non-documentary films as well as a number of travelogues.
