Science Please! has won the 2002 Prix Gémeaux (the French-language equivalent of the Geminis) for best animated series. The collection is made up of 26 one-minute-long science films (minutes) on five themes: "Matter and Chemicals," "Force and Motion," "Heat and Cold," "Magnetism and Electricity," and "Sound and Light.". The look of the "minutes" is like an old newsreel--old-fashioned black-and-white animated titles with color animation and live-action black-and-white footage. Factual, catchy, and fun, each brief segment is a mix of animation and live-action:
