Brothers Chrissie and Ray are CID officers whose team struggle against a growing sense of vigilantism on their patch. However, when the murder of a 12-year-old girl heightens the tension on the streets, the shell-shocked community become intent on revenge. As the public clamour for justice, Chrissie and Ray must address the discord stirred up in their own family as their father, a retired police officer suffering Alzheimers, questions the departments politically correct investigation while their sister, a lawyer, agrees to represent a suspect in the brutal slaying. Desperate to close the case before the streets erupt in violence, the investigation takes a dark turn as two members of the CID moves beyond the rulebook and down a volatile and dangerous path that could ruin careers and destroy lives.
