Raised in Amsterdam by a gay couple, twins Sofie and Daan (played by real-life sisters Carice and Jelka van Houten) could not be more different. Sofie is an uncompromising workaholic with few close relationships; Daan, meanwhile, is a warm free spirit, but is married to a man who doesn't share her outlook on life.
