The story of Danish speedways golden generation is a captivating, human drama that will also fascinate other than the fans of the sport. The fall of kings is the story of Ole Olsen, but especially about the sporting triangle drama he was a part of in the 80s. The golden age of Danish speedways, as the period is called. As Ole Olsen's glorious career lags towards the end, two young, promising talents emerge as the obvious heirs to the Danish speedway throne: Erik Gundersen and Hans Nielsen. They are both thirteen years younger than Nestor Olsen and become a kind of apprentice to him. The title of Mads Kamp Thulstrup's documentary promises with his king's metaphor an epic drama about greatness and fall.
