Synopsis:

During the Spanish Civil War the Republican government set up the Committee for the Defense of Art Treasures with the aim of conserving works in the Prado Art Gallery and preventing damage to them during the conflict. The film reconstructs the ups and downs and the movements of these works of art from the day they were packed up in a total of 1,868 boxes until their arrival in Geneva. There the International Committee was established for the Safe-keeping of Spanish Treasures and it took care of the boxes until their return to the gallery on 9 September 1939..
