Synopsis:
The entire film is shot from the point of view of one of the main characters: Martijn. Martijn hasn't seen his zusje (little sister) Daantje for a long time - one day he visits her and after hesitating a while, she allows him to come in to her flat unknowingly allowing him to enter her life. Obsessed with his sister he relentlessly follows her around everywhere with a camcorder, recording her life on tape. With Martijn we start learning about Daantje's life, her friends, her interests. It soon becomes clear that the relationship between the siblings is not without tension - we get hints that there was a traumatic event in the past that both have not digested properly, but which gradually will be revealed during the course of the film.

After several years without contact, Martijn visits his sister Daantje, who just started to live on her own in Amsterdam. He tells her he is going to make a documentary about her life, and enters her home with a video camera. This creates tension between Daantje and her brother because he wants to recall something that happened between them in the past. To keep Martijn at a distance, Daantje starts a relationship with Ramón, but Martijn gets between them. He manages to talk to her so that she remembers the things that happened when they were kids. This helps him to overcome his obsession for his sister, and after playing over their history, he is finally able to see her without the video camera like he did during the course of the movie.

This disturbing yet highly distinguished Dutch film follows the incestuous obsession of a young man attracted to his beautiful sister. Using a subjective camera, it is filmed from the perspective of the young man, Matthew, who in turn uses a camera to film his sister Daantje. The siblings haven't seen each other in years, and Daantje is not pleased to have her brother forcing his way into her life and filming her every move with his camera. It seems she and he share an uncomfortable secret, shown via Super-8 film in which their parents found them naked in bed on one of her birthdays. But film does not always tell the truth and later, when Daantje steals the camera away from Matthew, the reality of the little escapade is revealed.
