Synopsis:

Set in the untamed Southwest of 1886, 'The Deserter' is a tale of fast-paced adventure and bloody revenge. A US cavalry officer finds his wife's mutilated body after a savage Apache raid. He deserts the army to seek revenge against the bloodthirsty Indians who committed the crime. An army General (John Huston), hearing of his plight, offers him the chance to lead the group of killers on a mission against the Apaches in exchange for a pardon…but will he survive?

Bitter over his wife's death due to what he believes was army negligence, Capt. Victor Kaleb deserts the cavalry and disappears into the southwestern wasteland. But when marauding Apaches set up a stronghold just out of the cavalry's reach in Mexico, Kaleb is given amnesty in exchange for leading a small band of especially trained soldiers to wipe out the Indian stronghold.

A captain convicted of deserting his cavalry (Bekim Fehmiu) is released to lead a band of deputized renegades. Together, the force must defeat a band of Apache braves. The film was released to video as Ride to Glory.
