Synopsis:

One day Jan mysteriously disappears without a trace. Nobody even knows if he still alive.His partner, Marie, only half accepting his departure, makes a new life with Frank, one of their friends, but continues to write unsent love-letters to Jan. Five years later, when life has followed its course, Jan reappears in his home town where his family and circle of friends live. Despite the marriages, separations and betrayals that have taken place during his absence, he soon slots back into his former routine, or at least appears to. But his abruptly interrupted relationship with Marie continues to haunt him...
