Synopsis:

After the death of Corrado Cattani, Judge Silvia Conti vows to bring his murderers to justice. In a joint operation with the US police, she tracks down and arrests a Mafia boss in New York who reveals the names of two men involved in Cattani's murder: Giovanni Linori, a leading Sicilian businessman with secret links with the Mafia, and Antonio Espinosa, the shadowy mastermind behind many international rackets. Simon Barth, a DEA official who takes part in the operation, persuades David Licata to infiltrate the Linori clan. Licata is the sole survivor of a police team massacred fifteen years earlier on Linori's orders, as Barth has discovered. So Silvia and David's lives converge on Linori's villa in Sicily, where past and present mysteries merge.
