Synopsis:

'Switch off' is the filmed story of the harassment of the Mapuche Pehuenche people and the gradual end of their communities at the hands of Endesa Spain and the Chilean government itself. The Mapuche, who resisted Spanish colonization for three hundred years and survived the Republic of Chile, find themselves persecuted by democracy which allows their lands, their cemeteries, their houses and their past to be flooded. Those who rebelled fill the prisons under the accusation of terrorism. The governors and people in power take no notice or, even worse, they are involved in dubious court cases with witnesses who hide their faces and in which the terrible anti-terrorist law passed by the dictator are applied..
