Synopsis:
When Robert Drewe, aged six, moves with his family to the sun baked coastal town of Perth, Western Australia - the world's most isolated city - he has every reason to expect a life of playful adventure. But an ominous darkness creeps in as he matures. Divisions between his parents and the shifting confidences of adolescence begin to take their toll. Then a man he knows murders a boy he also knows. The murderer randomly kills several others and Robert's life is changed forever.Set in the 50s and early 60s, and based on Robert Drewe's acclaimed memoir, The Shark Net is a story of secrets and lies, fear and evil. A time of innocence and new experiences that is moving, funny and shocking.
