Synopsis:
As the date on which Aya's grandmother predicted that the pretty young girl and her childhood sweetheart would consummate their relationship draws near, the frustrated couple finds their perfect moment threatened by a battle of the sexes that sweeps through their once-thriving village. There was a time when the village of Absurdian was considered a paradise, yet lately it looks like a dried-up wasteland due to a troubling shortage of water. Years ago, Aya's grandmother foresaw a night when the stars would align in the sky, and two young lovers would come together in a cosmic embrace. Now that night is drawing near, though the women in Absurdian have grown frustrated with the men of the village. Though young inventor Temelko believes he may have come up with a creative solution to the remote hamlet's water woes, his apathetic elders respond to the proposal with ridicule and disdain. As the women of Absurdian take a pledge of abstinence in response to male inaction, young lovers Temelko and Aya begin to question whether the encounter they have spent their young lives anticipating will ultimately be foiled by events beyond their control.

Somewhere between Asia and Europe lies the god-forsaken desert village of Absurdistan, which a grand total of 14 families somehow manage to call home. For the village, the biggest problem is water--but for the village women, the biggest problem is their lazy men, who won't lift a finger to remedy the situation. Here, the young Aya and Temelko, friends since birth, have reached the age where their friendship has turned to love. Unfortunately, the date that Aya's grandmother has determined to be ideal for their first time lies 4 years in the future, and to make matters worse, they must first bathe together. When Aya stubbornly tells Temelko that he must solve the water problem before he can come anywhere near her, the village women also take up the cry "No water, no sex" leaving the good-for-nothing menscratching their empty heads. Soon a crazy war of the sexes breaks out and they divide the town in half with barbed wire.

Romantic comedy, based on an actual event. The women of a small Central Asian village decide to refuse their men sex until they do repairs, which impacts greatly on two passionate young sweethearts, whose first planned night of love falls on the first day of the strike.
