Synopsis:

A Danish documentary that follows 28-year-old filmmaker Sami Saif as he attempts to locate his long lost father, Family is Saif's cinematic attempt to discover his roots and work out some lingering emotional issues in the process. Assisted by supportive girlfriend Phie Ambo, Saif's search reveals a father who seemed almost determined to abandon those who cared most for him. When a series of personal telephone calls finds Saif boarding a plane for Yemen, could it be that he will finally come face to face with the man who he has dreamt of meeting all these years?

This personal and compelling documentary takes a journey in pursuit of director Sami Saif's father, who abandoned his Danish family when Sami was very young.
