Synopsis:
Marc, a troubled teenager, is bored in his native, depressing city of Sete. One day, a simple phone call makes him aware of the existence of Stephanie, a sister he has never met. Armed with a pistol his mother found, he goes out to find Stephanie. He steals money from a perfume shop, and is then stopped by a policeman who wants to search him. In the car, Marc threatens the policeman with his gun, demanding that he helps him find his sister. The often tense relationship between the two travelers becomes a complex one.

Life is pretty grim for the boy in this story. School holds no pleasures, his mother is a drunk, and his stepfather is a real pill. It's no surprise that he plays hooky sometimes. One day he discovers that he has an older sister. Consumed with a desire to find her, he uses his stepfather's pistol to hold up a store for money for his quest and then takes a policeman hostage. The policeman helps him find his sister, and the young woman whom he has never met before is surprisingly willing to try and help him get out of trouble and away from his depressing family. This drama is filmed in a sensitive and unusual fashion and won all sorts of French and European film-making awards, including the Prix Louis-Delluc.

Thriller in which a fifteen year old boy breaks into a chemist taking a policeman hostage. He then takes him to his eldest sister's in Montpellier to whom he has only ever spoken on the telephone. It becomes clear that this dramatic action is in fact a cry for help on the boy's part, who has been emotionally neglected since childhood. His sister sets about trying to amend this.
