Synopsis:
Demi Moore stars in this unusual psychological drama about two women caught between reality and imagination. Marie (Moore) is an American widow trying to raise two children under difficult circumstances in a small town in France. Marty (also played by Moore) is a successful businesswoman in New York City who wants to leave her busy life and lead a quieter existence in Europe. But Marty is just a product of Marie's imagination -- or at least that's what Marie thinks. Marty, on the other hand, is convinced that Marie is just someone she dreamed up. Who is right? Or are both of them wrong? And where does it leave the men in their lives (Stellan Skarsgard and William Fichtner)? Passion of Mind was the first English-language film from French director Alain Berliner, best known for the arthouse success Ma Vie en Rose.

Drama. A young mother, Marie, leads a double life. As Marie, she is a widow with two daughters who lives in France; as her alter ego, Marty, she is a literary agent with a more outgoing, aggressive manner, who lives in New York. Marie goes to sleep each night as herself, and wakes up each morning as Marty. The two women have completely different lifestyles and different lovers, and visit two separate psychiatrists in an attempt to resolve their/her problems. However, the situation is exacerbated by the overlapping of each 'life' with the other.

Moore plays two women in this psychological drama from acclaimed director, Alain Berliner (Ma Vie En Rose)). Marie is a solemn American widow living in the south of France with her two daughters. In her dreams, she creates a gloriously magnificent world for herself. Marty is a confident New York City woman who dreams of moving to Provence. As the film unfolds, the question emerges: are Marie and Marty in fact the same woman? Are they distinct individuals?
