Synopsis:

In a community which values boys over girls, Gugan, a fiesty Indo-Canadian girl sets out on a collision course with her traditionally-minded mother (Shaheen Khan - Bend It Like Beckham) when she gets pregnant out of wedlock - with triplet girls!

With her mother in meltdown and her ever-so-slightly alcoholic father more concerned with concealing his naughty secret, Gugan's impending motherhood becomes the scandal of the year and divides her neighbourhood in two. The question is who will realise first that it's family, rather than pride that's most important?

With a cast of colourful characters - including Gugan's waster post-smoking boyfriend, her secret fundamentalist admirer and a handsome stranger who changes her life forever, Pink Ludoos is a delightful black comedy that highlights the contradictions faced by a traditional society trying its best to survive in the modern western world.
