Synopsis:

The Journey of Maryam (2003)
The Journey of Maryam is a poignant and poetic piece exploring the nature of memory, longing, loss, and the people and places that make us who we are. Shot entirely from the vantage point of Maryam, the invisible heroine in search of her father, the film recalls the visual sophistication of Vertov or Farsi's compatriot Kiarostami. However, in the end, a unique voice rises to the top befitting this intimate and personal journey through the neighborhoods, alleyways, and people of Tehran.

The Gaze (2006)
Upon learning that he's about to lose his sight, Esfandyar, an Iranian expatriate living in Paris, decides to return to Iran after twenty-years of exile. Confronted by his past, the reunions with his dying father and with Forough, his ex-lover, are deeply meaningful. What, with intrigues linked to his political past and his problematic love affairs, Esfandyar has many scores to settle before all sinks into darkness.
