Skinny Alejandra (1994)
A documentary by Carmen Castillo and Guy Girard, which won the Fipa d'Or Prize at this year's Cannes Film Festival. Castillo, recently returned from exile, escaped from Chile in 1974, after the home from which she, her husband Miguel Enriquez, and other leaders of the Movimiento de la Izquierda Revolucionaria (MIR, Movement of the Revolutionary Left) were continuing armed resistance against the junta was firebombed by the secret police. In the attack, Enriquez was killed; Castillo, seven months pregnant, eventually made her way to England.
