Synopsis:
'MY FATHER PABLO ESCOBAR' tells the inside story of the life, death and legacy of drug lord Pablo Escobar as seen through the eyes of his only son and the sons of his most prominent victims. To some Pablo Escobar was a ruthless criminal. To others, he was a noble saint, but to Sebastian Marroquin, he was one thing above all others: a father. 'MY FATHER PABLO ESCOBAR' takes you inside the world of the most notorious drug trafficker of the modern era, from a new perspective: the voice of his only son. For the first time, Sebastian Marroquin (formally Juan Pablo Escobar) invites the world deep into the house of Escobar through photographs, recordings and intimate memories.Along the way, Sebastian reaches out to the sons of his father s most prominent murder victims, Colombian politicians and anti-drug trade crusaders Luis Carlos Galan and Rodridgo Lara Bonilla. He attempts to close wounds that extend beyond three families, and across the history of the home they all once shared - Colombia. His sincere asking of their forgiveness gives this sharply focused film an even keener edge.

Pablo Escobar was once one of the most powerful and feared outlaws in Colombia, a giant in the nation's illegal drug trade who gained remarkable wealth and no small number of enemies. However, while Escobar was a violent and ruthless criminal, he was also a husband and father, and when he was murdered by rival drug kingpins in 1993, his teenage son Juan Escobar announced to the press that he intended to kill the men who killed his dad. Years later, Escobar's son has a very different attitude about his father and his legacy; Juan has changed his name to Sebastian Marroquin, renounced the violence that was once closely associated with his family, and has befriended the children of Rodrigo Lara Bonilla and Luis Carlos Galan, Colombian political figures who were assassinated by thugs affiliated with Escobar and his operation.
