Synopsis:

Shoebox Zoo fuses classic drama with state of the art CGI animation by taking viewers on a magical adventure in search of the alchemist's Book of Forbidden Knowledge, lost a millennium ago in the borders of Scotland. A young girl, Marnie, discovers a secret hidden within a dusty old shoebox that she finds in a junk shop. Four carved animals found within have the power to come to life. Marnie finds herself on a quest to find the Book Of Forbidden Knowledge which was lost a thousand years ago.

An American student living and studying in Edinburgh is given a mysterious box of toy animals for her birthday, toys that come alive during the night in their quest to find an ancient magical book.
