Synopsis:
From 1994 to 1997 James Wood's Royal Commission waged war on the endemic police corruption that had plagued New South Wales for decades. For the first time, the team of super investigators, lawyers and Wood himself tell the story of the ruthless, relentless and untouchable inquistion that broke the botherhood of dodgy cops. The Wood Royal Commission irrevocably altered our police force and our political landscape. Senior police were jailed. Politicians and a police commissioner were forced to resign. There were 12 suicides and almost 400 police were sacked. The film draws upon a wealth of rich archival sources trial and parliamentary transcripts, video and audio surveillance material and material from the recurring media firestorms. Told in the style of a political/crime thriller it will draw a wide audience as it reveals an extraordinary and vivid slice of our recent and very dark past."

The Wood Royal Commission unleashed an extraordinary investigation that swept through the NSW Police Force like a tsunami. For many, the stakes were life or death. Not everyone survived.
