Synopsis:
Episodes 21-40 of the classic ABC Television series.Wild side, the acclaimed Australian television series starring Tony Martin in his Logie Award winning role and Rachael Blake in her AFI Award winning role, is set against the problems, crimes and triumphs that tumble onto the streets of a city bursting with life. The action raw, honest and delivered at a frenetic pace focuses on the men and women who work in a down town police station, and the staff of a crisis centre who fight to protect those who cant protect themselves.Unprecedented acclaim followed the series launch on ABC Television with the broadcast of an explosive four episode mini-series. It won the 1998 Logie Award for Most Outstanding Mini-Series and Tony Martin received the Most Outstanding Actor award for his stark portrayal of disillusioned ex-cop Bill McCoy searching for his missing teenage son.By the end of 1999 a total of sixty episodes had been filmed in this landmark Australian series, and a whos who of this countrys acting elite had brought its many dark and troubled characters to life.It was a very tough ask, to deliver that much drama, with that level of action, in that time and on that budget. Our shooting ratio was astronomical and placed a massive load on our post production team. But everyone rose to the occasion because they knew it was good. - Steve Knapman, Producer
