Synopsis:

In the ten-year period between 1938 and 1948, from the height of Italy's Fascist regime to the Christian Democrat electoral victory that marks the end of the tumultuous postwar period, Chief
Detective De Luca investigates and solves crimes in the City of Bologna and along the Adriatic coast, with little or no regard for those in power, whoever they happen to be. His solitary,
uncompromising character and his magnetic effect on women, plus the fact that he is simply a too skilled and too honest a policeman not to uncover the truth, all combine to land him in
trouble from time to time.

Set in Italy during the turbulent years from 1938-1948, 'Chief Detective De Luca' centers on police detective from Bologna who relentlessly seeks the truth. Mini-series plays out against a turbulent historical backdrop of Italy's fascist regime, World War II and the post-war transition to democracy
