Synopsis:

Nobody Passes Perfectly is a subtle, humoristic and thought evoking film about the courage to change oneself radically. In beautiful filmic tableaux, debut director Saskia Bisp invites her audience to places where the gender isn't a predefined condition, dictated only by biology, but a very personal part of the self that can be challenged, investigated and altered. Meet Tomka who is right in the middle of such a process. He lives in a very loving relationship with his Lesbian girlfriend Lotte. Together they try to imagine what his transitioning will mean for their relationship. And meet Erik, who was once a heterosexual woman, and has finally decided to live his life as a man.

A portrait of two individuals in the process of gender transition and the questions they are forced to grapple with. Very much in love with his lesbian partner Lotte, Tomka is in the early stages of transition. While comfortable with his decision to become male, Tomka is unsure of what is in store for him, and in particular, what impact his choice will have on Lotte's identification as a lesbian. Erik, like Tomka, was born female, but now lives fully as a man. Here, we take a look at how his definition of manhood may confront and challenge those of a biological man. The dialogue about gender identity that unfolds suggests that a transgendered mind and body might be trying verbalize a feelings beyond the reach of vocabulary.

'Nobody Passes Perfectly' is an open minded and emotionally strong film about gender identity. Through a series of stylistic tableaux centered around two different people, their lives and sexuality, the film provides a personal and unorthodox look into the process of defining and changing gender identity.
