Synopsis:
Season 19 - Taggart
Season 19, Episode 1: Hard Man
Original Air Date-2 December 2002
Investigating the discovery of a mangled body at a Clyde shipyard, DCI Burke and the team soon find themselves dealing with a case of murder.

Season 19, Episode 2: Fade to Black
Original Air Date-21 December 2002
A young nurse is found strangled in her home, with no sign of forced entry and two glasses of wine on the table. On finding a large quantity of cash hidden in her flat and signs of an affluent lifestyle, Burke and the team begin to suspect that the murder victim had a secret double life. Meanwhile, a mysterious and sinister person is following and filming Burke with a camcorder.

Season 19, Episode 3: Blood Money
Original Air Date-28 December 2002
When a boxing promoter is found strangled with wads of bank notes stuffed in his mouth, the team investigate. Successful fighter Andy Corbett was having an affair with Elaine, the victim's widow and the ringside doctor, Dr. Heron, has also been behaving suspiciously in trying to get rid of the boxers' medical record. Following another death, however, the motive appears to stem from fight fixing.

Season 19, Episode 4: New Life
Original Air Date-4 January 2003
A top research scientist is blown up in his car having arrived in Glasgow to address a medical conference. There has been opposition to his research and initially, this is where the investigation heads. However, it soon comes to light that there are others within the scientific community who could benefit from the murder.

Season 19, Episode 5: Bad Blood
Original Air Date-11 January 2003
A Kurdish taxi driver is murdered and the team is joined by D.S. Fairchild, who is experienced in the matter of racially-motivated crimes. Whilst the rest of the team get on well with her, Burke is peeved as he believes that political correctness is hampering the course of the enquiry, particularly in view of the fact that noone seems any closer to establishing a motive for the killing.

Season 19: Episode 1 - After a nurse is stabbed to death, the detectives arrest her regular taxi driver, a man with a history of stalking and assaulting women. But they also focus on a doctor who had an affair with the victim, not to mention a sideline channeling stolen pharmaceuticals to a drug dealer.

Season 19: Episode 2 - A young nurse is found strangled in her home, with no sign of forced entry and two glasses of wine on the table. On finding a large quantity of cash hidden in her flat and signs of an affluent lifestyle, Burke and the team begin to suspect that the murder victim had a secret double life. Meanwhile, a mysterious and sinister person is following and filming Burke with a camcorder.

Season 19: Episode 3 - A boxing fight turns deadly post-bout when the promoter is murdered and the night's takings stolen. After the ringside doctor is killed and a fight-fixing scam uncovered, Burke and company must act quickly to prevent further deaths.

Season 19: Episode 4 - A car bomb kills a pharmaceutical research scientist on his way to an important international conference. Could blame lie with the protestors who have been targeting him? Or maybe a grudge-holding scientist from a rival firm? Or was it an inside job?

Season 19: Episode 5 - Two gangland killings leave Burke fearing that a turf war might erupt. Meanwhile, DS Reid worries that a new addition to their team may have her own agenda. Burke decides to give the newcomer room to run, betting that she will lead them straight to the killer.

Hardman: A man's mangled body is found in a Clydeside shipyard and it becomes clear many people wished him dead. The atmosphere within the investigating team remains fraught - though the arrival of forensic specialist Sheila Crombie could improve Burke's mood.

Fade To Black: A nurse is found strangled, apparently the victim of a straightforward crime of passion, but the team learn of her high-rolling secret life and discover a large quantity of cash in her flat. The mystery is compounded by the appearance of a peeping Tom determined to follow and film every move Burke makes.

Blood Money: A boxing promoter is found murdered with his mouth stuffed full of money and the Glasgow detectives quickly discover they are involved with a fight-fixing ring, but other deaths follow and Fraser feels the lash of Burke's tongue before the villain is finally counted out.

New Life: Burke and the team investigate the murder of a scientific researcher involved in cloning experiments, and initially suspect a protest group are to blame. At first the case seems cut and dried - until it emerges that his employer has benefited financially from his death and his assistants disagreed over the content of the lecture he was supposed to give.

Bad Blood: Burke suspects the murder of a Kurdish taxi driver was racially motivated - until he discovers the dead man was actually a trusted employee of a feared gangland boss. The police soon find themselves drawn into a bitter underworld dispute, and Reid begins to suspect an ambitious new colleague is an accomplice of the villain.
