Synopsis:

Elle Daniels (Ashlee Hewitt) has dreamed of being a famous singer-songwriter for as long as she can remember. On the day of her audition for Berklee, the plane her parents are travelling in crashes. Crushed, Elle moves in with her uncle Allen (Thomas Calabro), who runs a small, independent record company called Spunn Records. Allen offers Elle a job as an intern and even though this means supporting Spunn's biggest act - a bubblegum pop trio called Sensation, led by the horrendous Stephanie (Katherine Bailess) - Elle swallows her pride and tries to forget about her dreams. She becomes good friends with fellow intern Kit (Juliette Hing-Lee), and spends her days phoning radio stations and running errands. But then Ty Parker (Sterling Knight), the Ty Parker, famous pop singer extraordinaire, shows up at Spunn. Having been a fan of his ever since she was little, Elle sort of accidentally pretends to be singer Kandi Kane (Kiely Williams), and it all goes wrong from there.

Elle wants to be a singer/songwriter, but her dreams are cut short by the sudden death of her parents. She moves in with her adoptive uncle, who runs a small independent record label whose biggest act, Sensation, is also Elle's biggest pain. The pop music environment at the label, very different than the country roots she is used to, adds to Elle's feelings of loss and frustration, and her misplaced guilt, which is caused by the fact that her parents had been en route to her performance at the time of her death. But when she meets Ty Parker, a famous pop singer with a passion for 'real' music, her repressed ambition is released through a revitalized interest in singing and songwriting.

The movie is about a girl, named Elle, who wants to be a singer and a songwriter, but her dreams are cut short by the sudden death of both of her parents when they were on the way to one of Elle's performances. Elle moves in with her adoptive uncle who runs an independent record label. Signed to the record label is the act 'Sensation' who Elle is not a fan of since she enjoys Country music and they are Pop. At the record label Elle meets Ty Parker, played by Sterling, who is a famous pop singer who brings out her ambition to write and sing!
