Synopsis:

Gentle Colin 'Col' Lawes happily lead a quiet life, running a news agency with his soiled-rotten wife Sandra and playing competition darts in the Atletic Arms team. Colin catches her committing adultery with team captain Geoff, a cop, who pretends Colin abused her. Col is thrown off the team just after it qualified for the league finals in Blackpool. He decides to travel there alone, hoping to win her back. The adventurous journey feels like the start of a more playful life.

In a Midlands town, Colin spends all day running his wife's newsagent, put upon by truanting schoolboys and the local policeman. He is so besotted with his wife that he is blind to her affair with the local darts club leader. But when the pair go off to a darts championship together, Colin is forced recognise the deception. He himself then sets off to follow them to Blackpool, on what becomes a journey of self discovery.

Colin (Michael Sheen), sets off across the country to win back his wife. Out of his routine life and away from the familiarities of his home town, Colin meets people and encounters a series of incidents that will shape his new life…
