Synopsis:
The Beiderbecke Affair (1985)
Follow the exploits of Jazz nut Trevor Chaplin (James Bolam), and his long-suffering girlfriend Jill Swinburne (Barbara Flynn). Whilst trying to track down a set of missing records they encounter a mystery platinum blonde who weaves a complex web of intrigue that soon escalates to dealing with dodgy businessmen, 'black economies' and council corruption.

The Beiderbecke Tapes (1987)
Feature length mystery with Trevor and Jill as they continue to embroil themselves in all sorts of clandestine meetings and intrigue. Nuclear waste in the Yorkshire Dales, sinister conversations and a missing barman take Trevor and Jill on a whirlwind mystery from the Dales to Amsterdam and Edinburgh.

The Beiderbecke Connection (1988)
Trevor and Jill are now parents to a baby boy, however their old pals Big Al and Little Norm prevail upon them to give sanctuary to a homeless refugee. It is not long however before they are again caught up in a complex deception of a musical kind featuring the music of jazz supremo Frank Ricotti.

The Beiderbecke Affair (1985)
Trevor Chaplin teaches woodwork and likes to listen to jazz. Jill Swinburne teaches English and wants to help save the planet. Trevor tries to buy some jazz records but this leads to meeting a 'dazzlingly beautiful platinum blond', a suspicious detective sergeant and a strange pair of men running a junior football team. Big Al and Little Norm agree to help Trevor and Jill with their school supplies problems. Jill decides to stand as a local councillor. A tale of 'Black Economies', council corruption and many strange characters all set to a background of Bix Beiderbecke.

The Beiderbecke Tapes (1987)
Sequel to the series, the BEIDERBECKE AFFAIR. Woodwork teacher Trevor Chaplin receives a gift of some jazz-tapes. One of the tapes contains a strange conversation, which leads Trevor and girlfriend Jill into a skirmish with the security services.

The Beiderbecke Connection (1988)
After the success of the British mini-series The Beiderbecke Affair and its sequel The Beiderbecke Tapes, the BBC followed with The Beiderbecke Connection, the final installment of the trilogy. The lives of jazz lovers Trevor (James Bolam) and Jill (Barbara Flynn), now married and raising their first child, become more complicated after they agree to take in a friend who has recently fallen on hard times. Though at times it seems their unexpected house guest be more trouble than they bargained for, he is, at least, a fellow jazz fan.

The Beiderbecke Collection is a charming mix of comedy and drama that has all the hallmarks of a classic detective thriller. Follow the exploits of jazz fan Trevor and his long-suffering girlfriend Jill as they find themselves embroiled in various mysteries which follow them to Amsterdam and Edinburgh and include dodgy businessmen, black economies, refugees and much much more....
