Synopsis:
Film buffs had just about given up on seeing this classic film ever again but now after over 30 years in film oblivion we are delighted to present Joe Don Baker in the cult classic WELCOME HOME SOLDIER BOYS. Discharged from a tour of duty in Vietnam a group of soldiers drive across the US to take in the nation they once protected. The country however doesn't want to see them and after being hustled by a hooker their car breaks down in a small town that treats them like dirt. Their revenge makes Rambo look like a gentile tea party with a stunningly violent climax you need to see to believe. From Richard Compton the director of MACON COUNTY LINE WELCOME HOME SOLDIER BOYS is as sort after by war historians as it is by film enthusiasts as it is one of the first films to deal with the animosity soldiers received on returning to a country that no longer wanted or understood them.

This anti-war drama centers on four Vietnam veterans who are driving cross country to California. By the time they hit New Mexico, they are down to $69. They started out with over $9,000 between them. To get some quick cash, they rob a gas station. The irate owner begins shooting at them and they in turn show him that they are carrying a veritable ammunitions dump in their trunk. Donning their Green Beret uniforms, they get revenge upon the town and then begin waiting for the authorities to show up so they can have a showdown with them too.

A team of four Green Beret Veterans pool their money together when they leave the army, buy a cadillac and travel from Arkansas across the southern USA planning to settle down on the land that one of them claims to own in California.
