Synopsis:

Loosely based on the Finnish novel by Aleksis Kivi, the film tells the story of 7 quarrelsome brothers who spend their days hunting, fishing and getting out of doing chores at the family's farm. Running from the authorities who force them to learn to write and read, they hide in the woods and hills in the south of Finland. There, they will experience a magic and wonderous journey that will change them for the rest of their lives.

Free adaptation of the first novel written in Finnish by Aleksis Kivi in 1870, this is the story of seven brothers who prefer hunting, fishing, fighting and sleeping to the work in the family farm. Escaping from the authorities who compel them to learn reading and writing, they hide in the savage south Finland where they meet theire adventurous fate like a journey in a magic wonderland.
